The Peterson Silver Cell is the most successful and practical silver recovery system available for most applications which is why it was awarded a U.S. patent in 1983. The Peterson Silver Cell is approved for use by numerous state and federal agencies. Its proper use assures that spent photo fixer effluent discharge meets or exceeds the Federal Clean Water discharge requirements of 5 ppm.
Operating on the same principal as a battery, the Peterson Silver Cell continuously generates its own powel: A low voltage electrical current causes the silver suspended within the photo fixer to be deposited onto the replaceable Silver Cell cartridges.
The Peterson Silver Cell has no moving or mechanical parts and is virtually maintenance free, yet yields similar performance to the electrolytic units without the cost, maintenance or operator involvement.
The Peterson Silver Cell requires no operator intervention or monitoring, except to change out spent cartridges. Cartridge life is up to one yeal: The Silver Cell units, either the Single or Dual 2000, can process up to 125 ml/min with a maximum recommended capacity of 280 gallons of fixer before cartridge replacement. Customized units capable of processing larger volumes are available. Silver Cells come with a one year limited warranty.
THE PETERSON SILVER CELL IS A PATENTED [U.S.PAT NO. 44476971] SILVER RECOVERY SYSTEM DESIGNED TO OPERATE WITHOUT MAINTENANCE OR OPERATOR INVOLVEMENT
We also use a device that we manufacture called the Electrolode II. This unit is designed for high volume applications. It's unique closed cathode allows for quick and easy harvesting of silver.
